An experiment

Irritare.

Entry 23/365

Irritation.

From Latin irritatus, past participle of irritare "excite, provoke, annoy;" according to de Vaan, probably a verb from Proto-Italic *rito- "stirred."

It's been a challenging few days for this mortal thy speaking. Perhaps it's the cold or the time of the month, or it is my husband that insists on doing everything he can to irritate me. Or perhaps it is my son who decided to go on a sleep strike this week or my daughter who cries hysterically if her peas get mixed with her rice.

Perhaps it's my Excel sheet that stopped working and didn't save my work. Or it is the car that takes ages to get warm. Or the list of small things only I can do because it doesn't meet the level of urgency or importance to be delegated to my husband.

Perhaps it was the wind blowing my hair in the wrong direction,  or having to wake up tomorrow at 5AM to run because if I go in the evening my children don't settle well for bedtime!

Overall, perhaps it's this day that started so promising and got me stuck in front of the computer solidly not letting me accomplish any of today's goals.

In protest, I will close this computer and finish these lines as quite honestly, I cannot bear talking to myself tonight.
