Tensionem.

 Entry 56/365

Tension.

from Latin tensionem (nominative tensio) "a stretching" (in Medieval Latin "a struggle, contest"), noun of state from tensus, past participle of tendere "to stretch" (from PIE root *ten- "to stretch").

Sharing a life with someone is no easy feat.
Sharing parenthood is an even more incredible one.

I often disagree with my husband's choices when it comes to our children. I judge him a lot and it doesn't help. I wish I could see what other people do and are doing in this department. How do they deal with a child crying her head off because of nothing. 2 seconds and he is annoyed out of his mind.

He is a kind man and a kind person but I think now he is tired. Of the noise and tension. And having to deal with demands from 7 and 2 years old which he finds Mama protects too much.

What he asks of me is almost impossible. Not interfering when he is angry is in my view too harsh for the kids. There isn't one single mother on this Earth - except for mine, perhaps - that wouldn't try to protect the children.

He wants me to deliver something that I am not capable of even processing.

It's so much tension when this happens. So much tension, it's awful and I always end up saying I am sorry when I am not and I will do it.

So, like this flower love and relationship and parenthood is a beautiful shining thing that grows surrounded by thorns and hardwood.
