Entry 57/365
Pain.
from Latin dolor "pain, grief, sorrow," perhaps from PIE root *delh-"to chop" "under the assumption that 'pain' was expressed by the feeling of 'being torn apart'.
Mankind will do anything and everything to avoid pain. Whether it is small, or big. For a long period of time, or small. Most pains are to be avoided at all costs.
The pain of losing.
The pain of gaining at times.
The pain to see your son/daughter getting lost in the streets of life, and not finding the way back.
The pain of not having my husband with me when the parenthood frenzy is over, and the children leave.
The pain of being, feeling, or seeing someone you love stuck.
The pain of shame.
The pain of rejection.
The pain of being not loved.
The pain of becoming my Mother.
The pain of never progressing.
The pain of not making the most of this life.
The pain of dying without seeing my children grow and flourish.
Pain. Pain. Pain.
I would do anything to avoid all the above to happen but sometimes like today I allowed myself to write down those things and as a result, I was inundated with the feeling of gratitude.
The more pain we are willing to imagine, the more grateful I felt.
I feel like crying because the imagined pain is pain all the same.
